FULL MOON CHRISTMAS: What am I celebrating?
Another year, another Christmas, and here we are AGAIN, faced with the same challenges, stuck emotions, deeply held beliefs and reoccurring thoughts (samskaras). Ahh... the great MERRY-GO-ROUND of life.
I pulled this card on Christmas Day, so I first noticed the giant laurel wreath, symbol of two very different aspects:
1. On a surface level, the World card represents VICTORY and COMPLETION of a goal: the birthing of a project, graduation, or anything that is coming to a close. You can think of the wreath as a victor's crown.
On a deeper level however, the World represents a personal victory of OVERCOMING samskaras. Perhaps a "successful" trip home for the holidays (no fights or arguments😂👍). BUT HOLD UP, The World is the last of the Major Arcana and "trumps" all other cards in the tarot. She must offer us up more than JUST celebrating. And you're right. The World actually packs a BIG PUNCH. Her lesson can sometimes be an exhausting REALIZATION.
2. This DANCE we call life NEVER ENDS. "It goes on and on my friends." No matter what it is you're bringing to a close, you can't just brush your hands off and say, "alright, I'm victorious, I won, game over." Bc just as 2015 comes to a close, another year is right around the corner. Whatever it is you're celebrating, the learning and growing doesn't end here. The wreath is a symbol of ETERNITY. And it's actually a wreath SO BIG, it's not meant to crown a victor for personal recognition, but rather act as an arena for us all to dance in. If you aren't consistently working on yourself, expanding, and evolving, you WILL trip on your feet (often the meaning of The World Reversed, a reluctance to change and grow, being stuck on past accomplishments). The lesson: celebrate accomplishments, but realize it doesn't ever end. Victory and Eternity are two ends of the same bouton. Just like the dancer, twirl these two aspects so there's no separation, a continuous flow of life, celebrate and expand, the JOYOUS DANCE OF LIBERATION.
