The Sun paired w/ Opalite indicates a deep release of fear around partnerships through optimism. If there's anxiety around being alone, celebrate what you do have. If you feel trapped by commitment, drop how serious partnership might seem and flip the switch to play mode. This transit is an opportunity to raise your vibration to the joy of sharing with another. This opens you up to receiving love in many new ways. In business, enjoy the process of creative collaboration. In committed relationships, be open to role-play and toys. In new romance, drop your expectations and bask in the present moment. Have fun, let go control, and enjoy the ride!
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SUN SIGN☀️ ✨The Sun sign can often be misinterpreted at a very surface level, as "the personality" or "ego-identity." While parts of this may hold true for you, your Sun Sign acts more as a lens to your experience of reality, than a code of prescriptive traits for you to live up to. ✨When we are born, we are literally sponges soaking in our environment. In the same way there's emphasis on how powerful a first impression may be, the time of year we are birthed into this plane greatly impacts how we first perceive the world. For instance, those born during Cancer first experience the world through the nostalgia of early Summer, family BBQs + vacation, attributing them to feeling comfortable in both familial + familiar environments. Those born during Virgo, the harvest, first witness organization, attention to detail, and back-to-school mentality. And how about those born during Scorpio? From the start, these babies get a glimpse of a darker world undergoing deep transformation. And those born during Aries witness the beginning of Spring and soak in everyone's eagerness towards life. Whatever time of year you were born, whether you're aware of it or not, you were greatly impacted by the the astrological season! ✨You can literally think of your Sun Sign as your sunglasses. 🕶 These shades greatly influences how you see the world, but there's still many other factors that come together to create the entirety of you: your bathing suit, your sun-screen, what items you bring to the beach, what activities you partake in, etc. This would be the rest of your chart! So in conclusion, the Sun may greatly influence your personality, but it never dictates your persona, rather acts merely as a lens to your experience.
The Sun card in the tarot often gets interpreted very loosely. OPTIMISM. FULFILLMENT. POSITIVITY. So it's in fact one of those cards (along with the Ten of Cups) that really frustrates + annoys me. "Show me the sunflower patch being polluted by car exhaust. Show me the kid uncomfortably riding the horse. Life's not that perfect." But I've found that if you allow yourself to fully be in these moments, acknowledging that they won't last forever, this is where the true medicine lives.
The Sun card is a deep release of all of our anxiety + fear (that we experience in the card before, the moon). If you ever watch a child play, you'll notice the story line isn't linear, and it absolutely makes no sense. One second they're kissing + hugging, the next they're blowing each other up. It's through PLAY we give ourselves space to leave behind our day, our worries, our fears (see the kid leaving behind the brick wall), releasing all that isn't ours, so we can spring forward into our TRUE AUTHENTIC SELF. That's why in this card the child is naked + riding a pony with not only no need for a harness or saddle, but no need to even steer with the arms or legs.
I'll admit, channeling the energy of the sun this week hasn't been the easiest. I've still been majorly feeling the moon from last week, but finally today I forced myself in it. I've been listening to old high school favorites, like Jewel, Regina Spektor, + Jason Mraz. I also have been carrying a hula-hoop, sunflowers, + a ukulele through the city (all parts of the Sun altar tonight). It's interesting to see reactions I'm getting from people. Even a little girl in this restaurant just walked up to me and said 'hi.' Luckily I'm well stocked with unicorn + rainbow temporary tattoos, so I let her pick one.
How do I improve the quality of romantic love in my life?: The Sun: The Sun card is about a burst of FREEDOM. Notice the child FREE from any clothes or worries riding away from a stone wall. She/he is breaking completely loose from restriction and into a free flowing form of existence.
We as spiritual beings cannot stand being trapped. When a partner or society builds rules and expectations, like a timeline of when to get married or the pressure of "labels," it can constrict us. We can get restless and want to push away.
I've seen this pattern act out in my relationships. This card is telling me to not worry about building rules and expectations for romance. Let her just flow in like the rays of the sun.
It's also saying that despite past hurt (day 3) and shaming (day 5), no matter how naked and vulnerable you feel, open up to the potential for romance because like the Sun it is already there, abundant, shining, and waiting.
