he MOON ENERGY in the tarot may be different than the lighter aspects of the moon many of us gravitate towards. The MOON CARD offers up a heavy dose of CONFUSION, EMOTION, + TURMOIL. When working with her energy (in ritual or when she shows up in a reading), whatever thoughts, feelings, or desires that have been hiding out, will absolutely reveal themselves in a very animalistic way. She has the power to cloud our vision of truth. Her veil is so tightly pulled down all around us that no light can get in. This brings about parts of ourselves that are very out of line with our path. It's energy is coming from a place of deep pain, often passed down through generations. When we open ourselves up to learning about + fully healing through these big energies, it isn't always gonna be pretty. The moon is a deep dive into the darker realms of our soul. But we must pass through her world and look our deeply engrained behaviors, petrified thought patterns, + worst nightmares in the face in order to reach the ILLUMINATION of the SUN, and the EXPANSION of the WORLD.
Tonight we acknowledge both the light + dark side of the moon. We bow to our wild, primal selves. And honor all of our ancestors who have walked in the light of this same mysterious moon.
Happy Pisces Season y'all! Get your life-vest ready! Over the next 30 days we plummet into the depths of our emotions! A beautiful, perplexing time of year, we find ourselves coming to the end of a massive cycle. Time both slows down and speeds up. We experience a gentle pause in the stillness of preparation for Spring, while the days mysteriously grow longer. Even the clocks leap forward. Pisces Season reminds us that time is an illusion, and that our souls too transcend this earthly realm. Our perceptions take on a wide, contemplative lens, as we sense the sacred spiral of expansion and evolution. But even so, as much as the call of liberation beckons us into the cosmos, we also experience a heavy counter, spiraling back down, the inevitable pull of reincarnation. This psychic back-and-forth motion mimics that of a pendulum, swaying between polarities, or perhaps the eb-and-flow of the ocean. We're both expanding and contracting, living and dying, dreaming and existing. Now is the time for us all to feel in to the sacredness of our subtle emotions, and the magic of Mother Nature's most epic of rituals. If you're feeling more sensitive, surrender to the tug of her tide. If you resist the push and pull, you may feel like you're drowning or even whip-lashed. Instead, how might you allow yourself to let go of control and enjoy the ride? You may just find that when you do, you're able to compassionately reconnect to the divine within not only yourself, but also within each and every beautiful starry-eyed creature around you. To meditate on this time of year, use your Moon card or the Queen of Cups. Surfs up babes!
Moon Rx w/ Daisy indicates some parts of you may believe your ideas to be impractical or impossible. Perhaps the combination of past trauma, failed attempts, and even inherited beliefs from ancestors have created a murky lake of subconscious beliefs that you are unable to live out the fullest expression of your truest essence. To climb out of this karmic cesspool, take a deep breath, and inhale this sacred truth, "I am not bound or controlled by karmic debt. My spirit is expansive and transcends any and all fixed notions that I, my family, or culture have placed upon me. I am free to express and create my wildest ideas and dreams." Keep pursuing the power of these words and life will clear a path for you to bring your ideas into reality.
The Devil asks, "where in my life do I experience addiction?" The Moon Reversed.
The Moon card in the tarot speaks to cyclical occurrences in our life. The abandoned child is then abandoned by a lover. Each time this trauma happens, the grooves of the imprint get deeper. It becomes a way of life. This is a Samskara. These repetitive life occurrences become so engrained that they become beliefs.
Often, we go about our day to day without mention of these deep emotional wounds. They lay dormant underneath the murky water. We learn to self medicate and to tame the waters through ADDICTIONS.
There's two tactics: create a new feeling or deny old ones. One is compensation, the other is avoidance. Depending on what chakra center the trauma occurred in, the tactic or addiction will manifest in different ways.
Root- body and food (eating disorders, work-out junkie), gambling.
Sacral- sex addiction, anything that helps you FEEL.
Solar plexus- work, ego, stimulants, caffeine.
Heart- depressants and tobacco, anything that makes you feel loved (even Instagram likes 👍).
Throat- lying. the need to be heard.
Third eye- mood altering substances, the Internet.
Crown- mind altering, hallucinogens, religious addiction.
So, addictions help us deal with our blocks. BIG DEAL. The DEVIL card in the tarot, I like to call THE HUMAN card. RELAX about it. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. We are here on Earth to understand the patterns we've found ourselves in. Addictive behaviors will always be present in some form or another. Just like the moon changes the tides, we too eb and flow. If you feel addicted, or you know someone who is addicted, it's important first to be easy on yourself or on them. We are all delicate spiritual beings trying to make sense of this human experience, and it can be very PAINFUL.
What I've found so helpful is checking in DAILY with the 7 chakra centers. What needs love and attention today? By bringing light to our emotional wounds and checking in with our chakra centers, we can allow our addictions to subside. Seeing the MOON REVERSED seems like a sign of beginning to BREAK FREE from her powerful cyclical nature.
