How can I KNOW my fear of accepting the present moment?: Justice.
When Justice shows up in a tarot read she reminds us of balance in the world, especially between physical/spiritual and outer/inner reality. If we put too much emphasis on one side, the scales are sure to tip. So here, for this read, we are looking at how to get to know the fear of the PRESENT. So, the two sides of the scale in this scenario represent the duality of PAST and FUTURE.
In order to be in the PRESENT, we must accept the PAST completely. It can be painful and uncomfortable to say "I'm right where I ought to be" when you're heart-broken or jobless. Or when you look back with regret on a mistake you made that put you in your current reality. But by practicing compassion and patience with ourselves, Justice helps us take responsibility for our lives by accepting our situation, instead of trying to alter it.
When I first started practicing the physical side of yoga, I would contort my body so I could fully make my shin parallel to the top of the mat in pigeon pose. I never realized the long-term damage this was causing to my knee until months later. Because of this repeated misalignment, I experienced a knee injury and was unable to practice yoga for six months. Even the subtlest misalignments, whether physical or emotional, over a long period of time can cause devastation: the beautiful relationship that ends because of a series of silly arguments or the job you love that ends because of showing up late one too many times.
Even when the slightest imbalance takes us off path, the image of Justice reminds us to go back to our center, remain still, and observe (notice her soft gaze as she sits unwavering). Through this meditation, we become aware of our patterns of the PAST that led us to our PRESENT. Once we understand this and accept, we can step up (notice her one foot sticking out of her robe, a suggestion of her readiness to move...) into the FUTURE with dignity and clarity (see the sword in her other hand pointing straight, see Ace of Swords Day 11 for more on mental clarity and perception). May Justice be a guide to finding rest at your own sacred center.
Take a deep breath into the heart. When you do, you release the need to know. Justice shows herself today as a reminder to zoom out from your situation. Take note of how everything is in perfect order. Release whatever doubts or fears you have around the path to come. Rest easy knowing Justice has your back. Everything is unfolding as it will. If the future is unclear or you are unsure of making the right decision, come back to your Center, to your heart, to your breath, to your practice. Baby steps of self-care and healing and everything will work out in accordance. Keep connecting to your Truths. The Sword pointing straight up represents a direct connection to Divine, crown chakra. Come back to your deep knowings, what transcends. When you do, the path ahead will clear and you can step forward from a place of balanced empowerment.
Justice paired w/ Green Opal indicates a need to filter information + reorient your mind. You may be taking in a lot of information at this time, especially in regards to larger philosophical ideas or cosmic truths. Which is totally cool, and a good use of your energy. However, you're being called to digest this information and assimilate all of the powerful wisdom + teachings you're consuming. If you're feeling anxious or unsure about the wide-open possibilities of the future, bring your deep knowings into practice! When you do, you bring meaning to your everyday life, gifting yourself a higher, more balanced perspective. This expands your horizons, activates your trust in the unknown, and lays a foundation for you to become a living embodiment of that which you know in your heart to be True.
Take a deep breath in. You are releasing the need to know. Drop out of the head and into the heart. Feel all of life moving around and through you. As long as you are committing to your overall health + well-being, you are acting as an agent to heal others and the Earth. This is what makes Justice happy. That you are aligned with Divine Order. Release whatever doubts or fears you have around the path to come, and rest easy knowing Justice has your back. Everything is unfolding as it will. If the future is unclear and you are unsure of making the right decision, come back to your Center, to your heart, to your breath, to your practice. Baby steps of self-care and healing and everything will work out in accordance. Keep connecting to your Truths. The Sword pointing straight up represents a direct connection to Divine, crown chakra. When the sword isn't pointing straight up, it can represent half-truth, or mental drama. Justice reminds you to release half-truths. A half-truth can be something only true for you, I.e; "that person didn't text me back last night" or "I don't have enough money for that." These might be a reality for you, but it's not true for everyone. Cause I don't even know that person, and some people are mad rich. So what is true only for you is a half-truth. Sacred Truths are Universal: There's enough food for everyone on this planet. Love is ever-prevailing and abundant. Momma Earth is our home. These are just some of many, but Justice with her swords and scales is the keeper of Sacred Truth and fiercely defends them. She reminds you to drop the mental drama. And come back to your deep knowings. When you do, you raise your vibration so that the path ahead is clear and you can step forward from a place of balanced empowerment. Notice how a foot peaks out of her robe, as if to almost stand up!
THE LOVERS ask, "If the love in my life is a mirror, what is being reflected back to me?" JUSTICE
When Justice shows up in a reading it can be painful at first. You can think of it like this. You are the child, Justice is the parent. You baked gluten-free vegan cookies together. You eat one and oh my goddess it's so delicious. 😋🍪 You go for a second cookie, but momma Justice slaps it out of your hand. Startled, confused, you cry. But Momma Justice didn't mean to hurt you. She was protecting you from a belly ache. She puts the cookies up on the highest shelf where you can't reach them and says coldly, "no more cookies until tomorrow." She doesn't offer you a hug or explanation. Her mothering is much more analytical and distant (as represented by the sword), but she always has your best interest on her heart. And don't even think about sneaking another, bc she counted the cookies and is very exacting (as represented by the scales). You may at first throw a tantrum, say life isn't FAIR, and even curse Justice, but as you grow and continue on your path, perhaps when Momma Justice isn't around, you may gorge yourself with cookies and make yourself sick to your stomach. Only then will you gain a deeper understanding for the role Justice plays in your life.
In the past in love, I have found myself gorging. Eating way too many cookies, way too fast. Something that starts out so beautiful and right, when not kept at a natural pace for digesting can be devastating. Justice reminds me that even as delicious as love can be, that what I have in this moment is enough. Self-love and my daily practices. Justice says, "Learn from your past. Slow down. Trust there is enough." Yes ma'am.
