Now more than ever gifts you with the opportunity to not only completely trust in the unknown, but to actually get super excited about it. The Fool teaches us to lead from the Heart, to greet the world as if it's the first time we've ever experienced it. See the world through the wide open eyes of a child. Find ways to be curiously present with what's right in front of you. Discard things that weigh you down and only carry that which brings you joy. When you do, you raise your vibration to attracting new wild opportunities of adventure. ✨I'm really feeling all of this right now, and I have been really working on nurturing my ability to get excited about the unknown. The more fixed I become on expectations, the more resistance life becomes. So I've been relearning the complete trust of the Fool over the last month or so. And with this relearning, unexpected doors of opportunities have opened. ✨Last night I did my first barter with a fire spinner!! 🔥 I'm teaching him how to use the Tarot as a tool for healing in exchange FIRE SPINNING lessons. We both pulled a card for this question last night, and we laughed out loud when I pulled the Fool. You can see in the picture the fire spinning tools! I haven't started working with the Fire yet, just learning technique and fire safety. Even just holding the tools in my hands, I felt a mixture of fear and excitement rush through my body. This is the energy of the Fool! I am super stoked and honored to 1. Be offering my skills in trade 2. To be getting out of my intellectual, intuitive understanding of this sacred element, and to get super intimate with its power! 🔥 ✨Excited for the journey that awaits! #bkfoolschallenge!
The card you love the most. THE FOOL ✨Half the time I think I am absolutely bat-shit crazy for pursing this vulnerable path: self-discovery, writing, tarot reading, entrepreneurship. But it's exciting, exhilarating, and makes me feel alive. Everyday self-doubt arises. Everyday excuses, procrastination, and obstacles present themselves, a million reasons why not to continue on this path. It’s because of THE FOOL I am able to move through all of my experiences fearless and open-hearted. I am forever grateful for the playful strength the fool inspires. THE FOOL represents our true essence as spiritual entities. He helps us do that which terrifies us, out of a genuine desire to learn, expand, connect, and grow. THE FOOL taps us back into our COSMIC INHERITANCE, where we are LIMITLESS and FREE.
he sun’s in talkative Gemini. It's likely your MIND + HEART will be chattering at this time. Allow the conversation to occur. The INNOCENCE of your heart is guiding you FORWARD + aligning you with your INNERMOST TRUTH (the fool); while your practical side + doubts ask you to proceed with CAUTION (the reversal). Over the next month, find a compromise between your SENSIBLE NATURE + your need to be FREE + SPONTANEOUS. The Fool is in the position between Sage (FIRE) + Jade (EARTH), again a balance between PASSION + PRACTICALITY.
The Fool in the tarot completely trusts in life. He can get tripped up and then still continue on with his folly, skipping and whistling away. This is what makes him so wise. He's connected to that which brings him BLISS. Even just a minor hang up is not gonna keep him from going where he wants to go, when he wants to go. The FOOL is giving all of us LIFE right now!
In yoga philosophy, anahata (the heart chakra) is Sanskrit for "unstruck" or "unhurt." It really took me a minute to understand this translation, but the more I've meditated on Waite-Smith's depiction of the #Fool, the more I've come to understand its meaning.
The HEART CHAKRA is the element of AIR. It's the community center and regulates our right to love and be loved. When this center is completely open, which you see with the FOOL it's WIDE the fuck OPEN (as he leads off a cliff with his heart), it manifests in the world as buoyancy. Right? Like the element AIR. Bouncy! So when anyone (including those voices in your head) say, "no I don't think you can do that," "you're a FOOL, that won't work," or "you're dumb, you're stupid." Whatever. Those people, those words, BOUNCE right off the heart, deflected, like that old saying you learned in pre-school, "I'm rubber you're glue, whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you!" Anahata. Unstruck. Unhurt. Heart chakra.
The FOOL reminds us, just as dogs do (you'll notice there's a small little pup yapping at his heels in excitement), to GO ON with ourselves. Keep skipping to the beat of our own drum. The rest of the world will catch up.
In light of this, throughout the next 6 months, as all the #brooklynfools continue on our journey, we will find synchronicities in our lives lining up with the archetype of the week. This past week, the Fool, I found myself FOOLISHLY deciding to no longer have a roommate or air bnb my second room out. I'm now paying for 2 rooms in NYC. 😳 This is all with the plans to make this second room my "office." In addition to clients at Maha Rose, I'm also taking reiki, tarot, and Thai-yoga massage clients out of this room. To see prices check out my site (link in bio). to book a session email me. I'm here for you!
here does JOY live in my life?
It's such an interesting balance to embody the FOOL by being completely PRESENT, while still maintaining enough awareness of the FUTURE to be committed and responsible.
We have dreams to ACTUALIZE! For instance, I'd love to travel the world, publish a few more books, and own a dog shelter on the ocean. I'd also like to use my energy more directly to foster a mindfulness practice through yoga and tarot to the LGBTQ youth community of NYC. But ain't none of this gonna happen if I don't plan. So how do we embody the spontaneity of the FOOL, without getting completely lost in his FOOLISHNESS?! Let's check out the card's imagery. The Fool, number 0, is adaptable, changeable, and most importantly, IN THE MOMENT. He has no concept of past/future and gives his attention to what's in front of him, much like the dog we see following behind. The Fool owns nothing but that which he can wear or lightly carry. This allows him space to continually explore. But don't mistake his minimalism for nihilism. Check out the intricate floral print on his tunic, the luxurious feather in his hat, the clasp of his bag etched with the head of an eagle. Everything he holds on to ENRICHES his life. He ENJOYS living and greets the world with elegance, grace, and purity (symbolized by the white carnation). Seeing this card REVERSED reminds you to allow yourself the space to be free and explore, while still being mindful of where you step. It's important to not get so lost in the world of the FOOL that you aren't making some plans for the future, but still taking time out each day to channel the spontaneity of the FOOL. That way when you reach your goal you aren't a complete dud who's forgotten how to live.
It's a practice to balance spontaneity w/ responsibility, but what the FOOL teaches is to literally imagine your HEART bursting with light when you walk outside your door. Yes, you can plan for the future and have a clue of where you're heading. It's kinda important. But if you remember to lead with your heart, it will open you up to wild, unexpected opportunities that not even the most careful of planning could have ever introduced you to.
The past few weeks, three different friends mentioned the Japanese art of decluttering book changing their lives. So, I took it as a sign to buy my own copy. I spent the last four hours completely gutting my room. I threw away three full garbage bags tonight (mind you I just did this a few months ago when I moved apartments) and it feels so freeing!
How can one obtain so many things? When I moved to NYC, I had one large suitcase and a backpack. Slowly, but surely though, we as humans hoard, collect, and hold on to things. The way we interact with the physical world is a direct reflection of our spirit. If we hold on to old letters, clothes we don't wear, and books we won't read, then imagine what energies, thoughts, and emotions we hold onto psychically?
Marie Kondo says, "when your room is clean and uncluttered, you have no choice but to examine your inner state. From the moment you start tidying, you will be compelled to reset your life." Seeing The Fool as an answer to what I need to manifest, it's clear to me that manifesting physical abundance is not needed at this time. It's time to be free from attachments. By clearing space in my apartment, I free up space in my heart and my life. This attracts joy and creates more traveling opportunities and healthy intimate relationships.
