Past: The Devil: Nothing like putting your life on blast. 😈😝 I've lied. I've cheated. I've wanted more than my fair share of pizza. I've talked shit. Ive purposely cut people off walking on the streets of New York. I've been on Grindr at 4am. All those things, and more. But the truth is, we all have, in some form or other.
When giving readings, especially to a first timer, if the Devil shows up it can be off putting. But really The Devil is the card of The Human. To be a spiritual entity having a human experience full on with desires, wants, and feelings. This is why we've incarnated here and now, to fully experience the pleasures of this plane, and to understand our relationship to desire and how it effects others and ourselves. Notice the humans are chained to the devil, but they aren't being harmed or struggling to get away. It's okay to act on desires without harming, but the moment we do, we chain ourselves. Feelings of shame and guilt trap us in unnecessary suffering (see Day 3: 3 of swords). Halloween marked my 4 months sober. Nothing feels more human than being free of substance. It's painful and you actually have to breath into the hurt. The past year I've learned a lot about how my desires effect my relationship to others and to myself, my body, mind, and journey as a tarot reader and human. Seeing this card reminds me to release myself from any feelings of guilt or shame, and that it's okay. We all are okay. 😈😈😈😈 thanks
The Devil invites you to deeply accept and embrace all parts of yourself, including your shadow. What might you deny yourself out of fear, guilt, or shame? How might you allow yourself to playfully let go of that which binds you out of self-criticism and judgement? The Devil reminds us to relax and accept our beautiful humanness filled with wild, primal desires and urges.
To fully stand strong in your sense of personal power, it's imperative you accept and honor all parts of yourself, including the undesirable. Check in with your darkest thoughts, the ones you feel most disturbed, ashamed, guilty, fearful, and even repulsed by. Find a way to be lovingly curious, rather than judgmental, about this "darker" side. The more you deny yourself this opportunity, the darker your shadows will become, and the more likely they will begin to manifest, and sometimes painfully so, as disturbances to your overall sense of well being. ✨Maybe not everyday, but once in awhile, hang out in your shadow realm. A powerful practice I partake in time-to-time is to literally embody my darkest thought. I breathe it into every part of my body and feel myself begin to move. For the next 5 minutes or so, or however long it takes, I then dance with the darkness. I let it fully have a chance to come out and play. What I find, is more often than not, underneath the disturbing thought is a potent dose of healing. It's important for us to remember there are no evil parts of ourselves. If we label them as such, and demonize them, we rob ourselves the beautiful opportunity to fully make contact with our wildest, primal nature. ✨Remember, all parts of yourself are worthy of love, nurturance, and understanding.
A tiny planet with a GIANT PUNCH. This dwarf planet takes 278 years to travel around the sun, spending up to 32 years in a given sign. Bc of this, Pluto holds an entire generation's worth of impact + influence. The energy of the sign it's moving through indicates where extreme transformation will take place on a societal-scale. The shifts in power dynamics are inspired by younger generations, rewriting outdated beliefs from older generations, so we can evolve as a species. ✨Pluto entered resourceful Capricorn in '08 when Obama was elected, and stays in this public-arena until '24. Think about early January, when you refinance + ambitiously set New Years Resolutions. This is Capricorn energy. Now zoom it out to encapsulate a 16 year period. That's what we're moving through as a collective! (The last time Pluto was in Cap. = American Revolution) ✨The major changes we can expect to undergo will be linked to structures + foundations of society:
✔️Government, corporations, public affairs, and financial institutions will undergo massive shifts in power-dynamics. We witnessed Occupy Wall Street founded in 2011.
✔️Actual buildings, neighborhoods, and territories will experience reconstruction + re-zoning. The Dakota Pipeline; as well as Trump introducing "the wall."
✔️Security, protection, and safety measures shift during this transit. We witness debates around gun-control, border control, and immigration policies. ✔️Career shifts occur on a grand scale. We see this as we move from Corporate America "9-5 grey flannel suit" lifestyle to freelancing and emergence of DoItYourself Pinterest-like companies/local Mom + Pop Shops, and emphasis on sustainable, organic food + products. ✨Another important aspect to consider! Pluto rules Scorpio, along with Mars. Both planets are currently in Capricornn. This Scorpio Season is more influenced by governmental transformation than we've ever witnessed in our lifetimes! Perfect timing for a controversial presidential election. ✨Use your cards to meditate on this intense pairing. 📣Judgement = Pluto
😈Devil = Capricorn
If you're willing to go against your own intuition to fulfill a part of you that your soul's longing for, it's time to reevaluate. Instead of getting mad at yourself, or feeling shameful, lovingly listen to your tendencies. Your wildest desires are an expression of your soul. Start a sacred dialogue between different parts of yourself. Make it a daily practice. What might your intuition say to your desires? How might your desires respond? If you listen carefully, you may find your desires to unroll a beautiful map, with your intuition as a compass guiding you towards inner-fulfillment. When you can bring these parts together, instead of denying one or the other power, you will break free from damaging patterns straying you from your path. Through patience + understanding, you'll find your life transforming, fulfilling you in the most unexpected ways!
